i dont really like the tutorial. it takes so long for him to explain the very important part of using the direct selection tool while also using the pen tool. he makes it seem harder than it is. many of these tutorials i am looking at making it so much harder.

I’m using CS4 and when I clicked on the Shape Tool, I didn’t get the option to be able to dynamically change the colour of the shape like how you did. Please help

My problem is that when I press alt and click to remove the node as at 4.30 I still get a curved line as at 4.40. I am doing everything right. my settings are all correct. What could be the cause?
Thanks for your great tutorials.

THANK YOPU for this awesome tutorial, this is the only video in 2 days that I found (other than your OTHER video) that actually HELPS! or TEACHES, great job, thank you!

So cool! Up until these two tutorials, the pen tool WAS a nightmare for me. Now, it seems like it should be a dream. Very excited to get reacquainted with this formerly mysterious tool. Seemingly, and possibly completely, stupid question: Having seen both tutorials now, I’m not sure exactly what it is that differentiates the path setting from the shape setting of the pen tool. Both seem to accomplish the same thing. Is the difference that the shape tool automatically fills?
Ebag1990
@jukjik8 I haven’t tried this with the pen tool but I’m pretty sure if you merge the layers it’ll work.
