We are consistently working towards improving the look of our web pages so that they look attractive and pleasant so that more and more surfers could stay on our pages. The improvements goes on and on and we are in constant search for new techniques to make the web pages more appealing. But lets not forget one important aspect of the web page layouts and that is the use of fonts. It is a common understanding that the use of fancy or artistic fonts improves the look of the site as well as gets more public attention. So far this has proven to be a myth and use of such fonts have only worked in reverse. So what are the best methods to use the fonts in html pages. In this article we will discuss the html fonts and provide you with some essential tips on this

Tip#1

Most people go to the WebPages to access and read the information. This goal must be satisfied by the correct use of fonts. In cases where the information is crucial for the web pages user then the web page should be designed using the most readable font like Verdana or Arial with the correct font size and color.

Tip#2

Fonts are made up of many properties but considering a web page the most important of these are size, type and color. Choosing these properties wisely adds value to your website.

Tip#3

The best font is the one which is easy to read. It is always better to use on your web pages fonts like Arial or Times New Roman as they are very clear and easy to read. Compared to these fonts, the fancy fonts like the calligraphic ones are very difficult to read distracting the user from the page.

Tip#4

It is not at all forbidden to use the fancy fonts. It is necessary to use such fonts if your website demands or deals into such categories. For ex. If you have a website dealing into flowers then definitely you would like to use some artistic fonts on it. But in such cases it is better to use the special fonts on the logo or title and not on the information. In such a way you can make the design good and the information readable.

Tip#5

The second important issue is about the size of the fonts. Not everyone who is visiting the page has got a correct vision. It is therefore recommended not to use very small fonts and ideally the font size between 12-14 points is readable and should be used for the content. A bit bigger font size can be used for the titles. Also make sure that you are not using too big fonts which make your user scroll too much which also distracts tem from the page.

Tip#6

The last but not the list factor is about the font color. Do use gentle colors ad use as much as black fonts as you can. The black fonts are easily readable and do not affect the color blinds as well. The last thing you want to do is put a light colored font on a light colored background, like pink on yellow.

Using such tips you are sure to benefit your users and make them stay on the page for a longer time.

For someone like you, who is professional with the software working, the process of learning the adobe Photoshop tips to become the successful cameramen is not difficult. Here are some basic tips to learn some more on adobe Photoshop tips.

The first method is the “Smudge Tool”. It is a basic tool which will be used when doing initial photo editing. It makes sure that the face of the subject looks younger and smoother. Many people have their own pictures which look imperfect. They include scars, pimples, moles and even wrinkles, which at times become much visible on the photo. However all such defects could be removed by using smudging tool. This way the tool can be used to make subject look better not only in appearance but also looks young, immaculate and beautiful. Every day we see many women on the cover of famous magazines and say how beautiful they look. But in reality they are Photo shopped and all their defects are removed. The second tool is Warping tool. It could be wisely used to manipulate a person. Manipulation includes changing a person all around in a picture. The changing is done by the warping tool. It is a very interesting technique through which a fatty person could be made to look slimmer. Therefore warping tool is also widely used to make people look what they actually are not.

Then there is a filter menu. It allows getting any good and fantastic effect in the pictures. If you want your picture to look like an oil paint type, then you can filter menu. It can be done by choosing an oil painting effect on the filter menu. The photo editing software is very beneficial because photo can be changed all together and could be made to turn into a whole new image.

When learning the tips of using Adobe Photoshop CS2, the biggest thing to understand is its layering feature. Because selecting layers for CS2 could not be easier. First hold the control key and click on the thumbnail of the layer which you want to select. If you want to use multiple layers, better press the shift key and hold it while selecting the second layer. This way all other layers between the first and the second will be highlighted. But in case intermediate layers are not needed, press control and click.

There is a Camera Raw, a recently added commodity for the Adobe Photoshop CS2 range. It is similar to a jpeg file but without offering compression and auto correction. Whenever one open any image in the Camera Raw, many automatic corrections are made. But you can get rid of those also. Open a photo in the Camera Raw, deselect all the four auto correction choices and click them, then in the fly menu, save those camera Raw default. However if there is a need to view full picture without auto correction, then control + U must be typed. With Camera Raw, image deletion has also become easy. On the right side of the screen, from a thumbnail a red x may appear with an option of deleting any particular image, simply click that. These are some of the tips in advanced Photoshop skills that have help create the best of professionals out of many cameramen and even ordinary people who just love taking photos with Photoshop features.

Is Photoshop driving you up the wall? Here are 15 simple tips to make using Photoshop easier.

1. When working on a colour image, you can use the Paint Brush tool to selectively “paint away” colour to black and white. It can make one portion of your image really stand out. In the Paint Brush Options palette, change the blend mode to Colour, and paint away the colour

2. When using your magic wand tool you can press your Shift to add more to the selection, or press your Alt to take away from the selection.

3. If you have a lot of images to display, use Photoshop’s image gallery to build a webpage of images that are thumbnailed for you. FILE > Automate > Web Images Gallery

4. Double click on the ‘T’ on a Type layer in the Layers Palette to automatically select the entire text layer. There are at least two ways to switch between the various measurement units that Photoshop displays.

5. One is to change them in your Preferences by going to the Photoshop menu under Preferences and choosing Units & Rulers (in Photoshop 7 under Mac OS 9, Preferences is found under the Edit menu). From here you can change the ruler units and click OK.

6. The second way is to open the Info Palette (go to the Window menu and choose Info) and click on the small triangle next to the cross in the lower left quadrant. This will bring up a menu that will allow you to change units on the fly.

7. To cycle through different screen modes, simply press the F key

8. You can select only the pixels and not the transparency area of the layer by holding the Cmd/Ctrl key and clicking the mouse on that layer in the Layers palette.

9. Do you have a layer style you like to use a lot? You can save that layer style as a style that will show up in your styles palette. In the Blending Options, just under OK and Cancel you’ll see ‘Save Style’. Name it and save it. You’ll then find this new style in the Styles palette. Note: the style must be in its own layer.

10. Sometimes when you combine multiple images, there will be a bit of fringe around the edges of the composite images. Often you can hide this by going to Layers > Matting > Defringe. At the dialogue box, choose the default setting; it that doesn’t work, undo it, and try Defringe again at a setting of 2.

11. Got too many layers? Simply select the right layer by using the move tool ( V ) Right click the mouse over the layer and a drop down list will come up. Alternatively, you can put your layers in layer sets. On the bottom of your layers palette, click the create new layers set (looks like a folder), name the new layer set, and just drag the layers you like in that set. Great for coping a set too. Highlight the set right click and copy.

12. If you want to toggle between Photoshop and ImageReady, press Shift-Command-M (Mac)/ Shift-Control-M (PC).

13. To access the Save for Web dialogue quickly, press Shift-Command-Option-S (Mac)/ Shift-Control-Alt-S (PC).

14. If you want to duplicate your current layer, press Cmd/Ctrl J.

15. To bring up the Extract dialogue box, press Command-Option-X (Mac)/ Control-Alt-X (PC). Within the Extract dialogue box, switch to the Extract Edge Highlighter tool by pressing the letter “b.”, the Fill tool by pressing the letter “k.”, and change the Edge Highlighter’s brush size by holding the ] key to make it larger and the [ to make it smaller.

Shaun Pearce is a writer, video maker, and Photoshop expert. Right now, he’s giving away a free report about the part of Photoshop that causes the most headaches to users: layers. You can access it by going to http://www.free-photoshop-report.com?=art08.
